Weird and wonderful shit just ends up in my place....
Relentless

I've always been fascinated by the Terminator movies. The thought of being hunted by something so relentless is truly terrifying. I wanted to have a go at creating my own human / android type effect so....

Started off with a basic silicone hand mold. The hair in the forearm is punched and the coloring worked out pretty well

As an added detail I went with acrylic nails. To fit these I simply cut into the 'cuticle' on the finger and then inserted the nail under the skin. The difference between the little finger with acrylic and the next with a painted 'laquered' finish is quite distinct. It was actually quite eary hacking away at these lifelike appendages with an Xacto knife... very surreal and more than a little disturbing!....

Next stage was to remove the human 'element' and throw in a touch or robotics. I chose the finger in the picture as I thought it would add to the theme. After all.....
whats more ironic than something chasing your ass, you being unable to stop it and even after you've shot and blew it to bits.... it can still flip you 'the bird'!! The finger is a mold of an Endoskeleton arm I bought years ago. I molded other parts of it to use later on too......

As the limb is supposed to look like it's been blown off the rest of the body, I
wanted to add some additional damage. I tried removing a section of the skin
and then sculpted in some 'flesh / meat' texture. This part was actually really
enjoyable as Silicone is a difficult medium to work. Sometimes it takes your
blade off in a totally different direction....

I added a huge 'flap' wound on the upper forearm and a smaller gouge or bullet type
wound to the back of the hand... Again artistic licence took over and years of movie watching blew aside any basic knowledge of biology I'd intended to use!....

The photo above is a rough layout of how I want the finished piece to look. I copied a screen used machine pistol from Terminator 2 out of my collection and roughly attached the arm and elbow section I had moulded from the Endoskeleton arm. The gun actually started out a cheap plastic kids toy which cost me $3!!..... I tried several poses but kept coming back to this one. I like the way you can imagine this thing crawling to pick up the machine gun again even after its been cut off... kind of like a robotic version of 'thing' from the Adams family... only mental and really pissed!....

I'll post more pics soon
